Book 2 takes place right after The Cavalier so you’d need to have read book 1 to understand what’s happened so far. As someone who forgets things the moment she finishes a book, I’m grateful to have been given that 😂
There’s still a lot of action and drama, as well as, multiple POVs telling this story as well as their own. The progression is steady, as if the author just kept going and editor was like “I’m just going to take this section here and make book one. You just keep on writing.” And just like book one, no gets a break. It’s very realistic in this feeling where, just when you think they can rest, no, something happens and they have to run in order to survive. Everything is gruesome, like war is meant to be. And we learn more about to who Prolus really is and the reasoning for the rebellion.
Once again, couldn’t put this down. Didn’t want to sleep, didn’t want to adult but I had to. I need book 3 in my life. You like period adventure with high action and drama? You need in on this.
