I think I mentioned it before where I don’t often read religious themed books, but this was really interesting. It’s 1688 and you have two young people going through some tough times. Maginhardt is basically in denial of his death and that it was at the hands of his father. Lexxie finds our her dad isn’t her biological dad and wants to find him to find out who she really is and where she now belongs.

With dual POV, you’re going back and forth between their journeys while experiencing the supernatural. Keeping in mind that the setting is of a time period where women don’t travel alone and boys are expected to follow their father’s footsteps in the world, this was a thought provoking tale of good vs. evil, finding forgiveness, revenge and having faith while questioning if you need to be more self sufficient. The language used was a bit confusing as I am not familiar with German at all, but I took the extra time to remember the references to which characters and it made things easier for me.

While this was the latest book printed in A Lifeline Fantasy series, the author states that it’s really meant to be book 1. Guess I’ll need to read the rest to see how that goes. All 3 books are available on Kindle Unlimited.
