The final installment of the Aftermath series, Jon heads to a B&B to figure things out after the tragic incident involving himself, Will and Mel during a rescue attempt. First, I want to say that the series should be read in order of release due to the way the beginning and ending of the books happen. Not only is the incident mentioned segmented, but the epilogue covers what happens after they’ve all recovered. Secondly, I was crying at the first chapter because this segment covers the tail end of how things went during the incident. And while Mission and Escape tell us a life was lost, Rescue tells us about the last moments that life had before it was gone forever. 

This series has become one of my all time faves and the closest to the real world as anything I’ve ever read so far in fiction. These characters were so human and their recoveries were so felt to me while reading it. I’m so grateful to have been able to read them all.
