I didn’t think to post reviews for the first two books but I will definitely go back to do so. Book 3 of the Sworn Soldier series, Alex travels to America at the request of his friend Denton. Denton’s cousin has disappeared from the mine that Denton owns and only Alex can help with the “situation”.
For context into the relationship between Alex and Denton, I highly recommend you read What Moves the Dead, where they meet the good doctor at the House of Usher. Then just go on and read What Feasts at Night, where we join Alex at their family’s hunting lodge.
I just want to say that I need the next book. Alex Easton is one of my fave characters and I need to read more of them and their horrific adventures. I want to say that this book is about as gruesome as book 1 when it comes to talking about the victims of the story. Book 2 is more subtle, more insight to Alex’s background since they’re returning to their homeland.
The entire series are all novellas so you can easily read them in a day or two. I’m definitely rereading them till the next one comes because I just love this series so much.
