I’ve really been veering into more horror books and this one was a great arc to read.
30Seven revolves around Marcus and Elias Lockwood, father and son, who travel to the secluded camping grounds of Moose Hollow. It’s been a year since wife and mother Isabella was brutally murdered by a serial killer. Marcus felt that by coming to this place, he could bond with his son, who came home that horrible day and found her remains in their home and bring happiness back into their lives. They meet a group of people that gather at that very camp every year like a family tradition and words of UFO sightings linger. But, when Strange things start happening, lights in the night sky and mysterious crafts start appearing in the area, Marcus soon learns that one of them is the serial killer that’s haunted him day and night.
I admit it starts slow. Marcus was hit with debilitating depression when he was away on a business trip and Isabella was killed. He blames himself and feels weak, feeling he couldn’t take care of his son. But the people they meet at Moose Hollow were supportive despite just meeting and that’s when it picks up a little. I would say this is a slow burn build but totally worth pushing through the beginning. If you saw my reaction post to this book, you may experience the same thing. Nothing that happened in this book I saw coming except when one of the Moose Hollow crew dies. That’s all you’ll get from me 🤐
This was a great book to read. Absolutely loved it. If it ever gets put to screen, I need to see it asap! Thank you to Podium for the review copy. The book is out on KU and audio.
