📚Still Chosen

First of all, I want to point out how this cover looks like it was done with colored pencils or paint and looks so artistic. The fact that the paperback is a matte finish adds to this effect and I love the author for being able to have this for her book.

Despite this being a fantasy book, Phoebe felt so real and relatable in her struggle to be the hero she once was. 10 years is a long time to go without any conflict that needed her magical gifts, but now that she was queen, there were other obligations. Whenever it’s mentioned how she couldn’t do things like when she was younger was so relatable 😂 I felt this as an older woman myself so that wasn’t hard to see in the book. This was very enjoyable to read and gave me a little LOTR vibes with the pacing and the traveling. I definitely kept the visuals of that vibe whenever there was an action scene. Yes, there is romance but no spice and it totally worked for this book. It very much kept more to the story in that way and that’s another thing that worked so well for this book.
