CR: Burnout Summer

I recently received an ARC copy from the publisher and didn’t start it till today. I kinda wish I had gotten it sooner since we just passed the Memorial Day weekend. It showed up a few days before release and I was already in the thick of a few arcs. But now that we’re technically officially in Summer, it’s a good time to break out at least one Summer Read, right? The college I work for is having Commencement this week so heck yeah am I ready for a few beach books (sans beach because I will never miss that feeling of crunch in my teeth).

Review to come, but so far it’s got a good start. Camille not only loses her job, but get arrested. Nothing serious but a woman deep in her frustrations and a soggy cop. Luckily, she reached out to her college friend, Danny, who came to whisk her away from DC and join him in Elswick, RI. I’m currently on chapter 3, as of this post, so I’m really feeling the “escape from it all to reconnect” vibe. Stay tuned!
