This book was so refreshing. And while I’m a grown adult, I felt relatable to Lennon as the younger sister and the person still trying to figure out social queues. So much of this is very YA with having your teen FMC Lennon roam through life as not only a high school student, but daughter to strict Palestinian Canadian parents and younger sister to Georgie, who became pregnant her senior year of high school. Oh, and there’s also matters of the heart that most teens go through no matter what generation you come from. 

As I’m reading, I’m really left guessing how things will go. John is really nice but he’s also a little protective of Lennon while also thinking they’re not on the same social level. Theo is from her church and also has feelings for her. He seems nice, as well, but it’s a different vibe with him. And I do love how Lennon’s one friend, Andie, took the time to understand what autism is and stuck by her. 

100% emotional rollercoaster coming of age and I feel it’s like that for everyone. Even Lennon’s parents had to adapt because of Georgie and the new baby. Such a good contemporary read and a great change from what I usually do.
